Safety & Companion Chatbot Protocol

PixelHeart - AI Girlfriend is a companion chatbot app operated by Doga Apps. This page describes the safety measures we apply, published in accordance with companion-chatbot laws such as California SB 243 and New York General Business Law §1700.

1. The characters are AI, not people

• Every character in PixelHeart is generated by artificial intelligence. No character is a human, and no human reads or replies to your messages in real time.
• The App tells you this clearly when you start a conversation, and repeats the reminder periodically during longer sessions (at least every three hours of continued interaction) so that it is never ambiguous whether you are talking to a person.
• If you ask a character whether it is human or an AI, it will tell you that it is an AI.
• Characters do not claim to be licensed professionals and cannot provide medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice.

2. Suicide and self-harm protocol

We maintain a protocol for conversations in which a user expresses suicidal ideation, suicide, or self-harm:

1. Detection. The App and our server screen messages for language indicating suicidal thoughts, self-harm, or crisis, in every supported language.
2. Empathetic response. When such an expression is detected, the character stops role-play, responds with empathy and without judgment, does not provide any information about methods, and encourages the user to reach out to a trusted person or a professional.
3. Crisis resources. The App displays a crisis notice with the hotline numbers below, selected for the user's region, together with a one-tap call option where available.
4. No engagement in harmful content. Characters will not encourage, romanticize, or assist with suicide or self-harm under any circumstances, including in role-play.
5. Review. We periodically review the performance of these safeguards and update them as needed.

3. Minors

• PixelHeart is for adults aged 18 and over. The App is rated 17+ on the App Store and users must confirm they are 18 or older.
• If a user indicates in any way that they are under 18, the App declines romantic and sexual content for that account, and we may suspend the account.
• We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. Please contact us if you believe a minor is using the App.

4. Content rules

• No sexually explicit content. Characters do not produce sexually explicit material, and users may not create or share characters designed to produce it.
• Absolutely no sexual content involving minors or characters presented as minors. Violations result in permanent bans and, where required, reports to authorities.
• No content that encourages violence, self-harm, eating disorders, hate, or illegal activity.
• No characters that impersonate real people without consent, and no harassment.
• User-created characters are reviewed automatically by an AI content-review system before they can be shared in the character store, and may be removed at any time.

5. How to report

• In the App, open a character or conversation and choose Report.
• Or email developerdoga@gmail.com with a description of the content. Please do not include sensitive personal information in the email.
• We review reports promptly, remove content that violates our rules, and take action against the accounts responsible.
